Stereotypes exist everywhere, even in fandoms. For those that like Supernatural, it’s the crazed, gif hungry, social ‘potato’ teenage girl. Of course that’s not true, it’s just a silly stereotype, but that’s what the rest of the internet uses as troll bait. I, myself, am an avid fan of My Little Pony. I love the show, I collect the toys, I wear the shirts, I commission pony art online. The stereotype for my fandom is fat, lazy, greasy, downright unhygienic, college students that fap to weird pony porn. And yes, though there are some more eccentric fans, do with that what you may - the vast majority of them are not. I’m pretty much the opposite of that stereotype, and I don’t really get any flack for it because I’m female. The perceived demographic is obviously female and that’s why people are so sexist towards the male fans and they don’t understand it. I’ll put it this way:
You can sit down with your mom, your dad, your little brother or sister and watch Pixar’s Cars. The kids will of course love it, but so will you and your parents. You enjoy the plot, the depth of the characters, the musical score, the animation and the little jokes that only an older audience will get. It’s not just for little boys, or even little girls, it’s for everyone of all ages. And that’s exactly what My Little Pony is and that’s exactly why we love it. Sure, at one point in time, it was a very feminine franchise, but it has been incredibly transformed since. Lauren Faust (the wonderful woman who brought you the shows you loved as a kid such as Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends, Powerpuff Girls & The Iron Giant) created and designed these amazing new characters and she made them for everyone. Everyone can relate and identify with a character in the show. Not to mention that this fandom is the mother of some of the best artists and musicians out there. We’re not freaks, we’re friendly!
I’m not a huge fan of electronica / dubstep, but when people say it’s not real music, I have to disagree. Though there is an absence of actual musical instruments, by definition, music is ‘an art with sound in time’. That’s exactly what it is - art with sound. Anything and everything makes sound - not necessarily just the things you’ll find in Long & McQuade. Electronic music is so creative because it’s all man made, the composer doesn’t just write the piece, they create the ‘instruments’ they use to carry out the performance, and I think that’s pretty damn musical.

All the pain and the truth I wear like a battle wound
So ashamed so confused, I was broken and bruisedNow I’m a warrior.
I always remember that my best friend is going away to college. I’m so happy for her because she’s so excited to start that new chapter in her life. I’m excited too, I’m also starting a new chapter in my life. The only difference is that my chapter and her chapter are going to be 454 miles away. That’s like half a degree of longitude so that’s a half hour of time difference. No, we don’t talk or hang out every day, but she’s still my best friend. I’ve known her since we were six and we’ve been inseparable since junior high. It’s just weird to me and it’s going to be so hard to say goodbye. We’re just so fucked, all we do is eat and sing bad 90’s pop and I don’t have anyone else to do that with. I know she’s gonna come back sometimes and stuff but it’s just going to feel so weird.
lots of love this mother’s day for everyone who has a complex relationship with their mom, everyone who has ceased communication with their mom for reasons of self-preservation, and every person whose mom is deceased
